Today, I want to pause for a moment and give thanks for all that God has done this year.

In the United States, we celebrate Thanksgiving – a time of gathering with family and friends around food, football, and fun.

Each year is precious, and over the past eleven months, our lives have been through many ups and downs. We celebrate the goodness of all that has been provided to us and that we can provide for those who may not have much.

We cherish those we’ve loved and lost throughout the year but recognize that as the holidays kick off in earnest, it is hard for those who have had to say goodbye to those closest to them.

This year, I am grateful for many things, but here’s a sampling:

  • My family and my brother’s fiance
  • Team Treehouse (Bernd, Hollie, Jenette, Maxim, and Stuart – you are like a second family to me, and I am grateful for each one of you
  • All of you – my podcast listeners – thank you for being part of this grand adventure and for trusting me as we share life.
  • The blessing of work
  • Our church missionaries – you are doing God’s work around the globe to further the Kingdom of Heaven.

On this day of thanks, I want to encourage you to reach out to someone and tell them how much you appreciate them and spread gratitude and thanksgiving.

Let the words of these verses ring in your hearts today (and always):

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” — Psalms 100:4

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” — Colossians 3:17

“Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” — Psalms 106:1

We serve a wonderful, loving, and gracious God who wants all of us to be with Him. As you spend time with family and friends today, may your heart overflow with thanksgiving and love for those around you.

Thank you for being a part of this community and for changing my life forever. I am grateful for each person who listens to this podcast, and I pray it touches your heart.

Blessings from my family to yours on this Thanksgiving day!
